Little and Middle Friends in 2nd and 5th Grades shared their Black History Month projects the other week. 2nd Graders learned about Dr. Mae Jemison, an American engineer, physician, and NASA astronaut who became the first Black woman to travel into space in 1992. The students wrote reflections on the attributes they most admired about Dr. Jemison and shared their writings with their Middle Friends. Meanwhile, the 5th Graders shared their research projects on inspirational Black Americans and why they chose them. Afterwards, the Little and Middle Friends enjoyed some extra recess time together!
