As part of 7th Grade's deep dive into medieval history, Social Studies teacher Laura Downs hosted a Medieval Feast before winter break!

A little rainy weather couldn’t dampen the joyful mood at the Buckingham Friends School Snowflake Festival on Saturday, December 3rd.

In honor of Election Day, Kindergarten learned about elections and the power of voting! After learning about the voting system and why adults vote, Teachers Jaime and Stephanie had the students experience voting first-hand.

4th Grade is wrapping up their Digital Citizen Super Heros project in Integrated Studies. Digital Citizenship is one of the many topics covered in Jennifer Murray’s Integrated Studies class for grades 3 – 5.

The Buckingham Friends School Co-ed Soccer Team was undefeated to win the 2022 Quaker Classic Middle School Soccer Tournament on Wednesday, September 26th. The Quaker Classic is a two-day tournament that has been held every year since 2016 between four local Friends schools – Abington Friends (AFS), Buckingham Friends (BFS), Newtown Friends (NFS), and Friends Select.

The 8th Grade trip to the Heifer International Global Village last month was once again an eye-opening experience to remember. The Global Village "aims to educate participants of the causes and effects of hunger and poverty, and to enable them to make a difference in the lives of those in their own communities and around the world" - and it did just that!

Last week, JEM Program Coordinator Laura Down led an all-school assembly that sparked everyone’s interest, introduced this year’s theme, “AIR,” and shared plans for the ways that everyone in the BFS school community will connect with the program this year.

Over the summer, BFS teachers and administrators worked to develop a formal advisory program for the Upper School. Building on the strengths of the long-established mindfulness and developmental workshop lessons, as well as past homeroom activities, and with consideration of the calendar priorities throughout the year, the committee worked to design a formal advisory program with intentional lessons about community, identity, reputation, social-emotional awareness, integrity, conflict resolution, respect, study skills, and executive function skills in the framework of the BFS mission and values.
